In order to pass the UK driving test, it is necessary to first pass the Theory Test. The Theory Test covers a wide range of subjects including traffic signs and signals, road procedures, vehicle knowledge and traffic law.

There are two parts to the theory test - a 50 question multiple-choice test and a hazard perception test consisting of 14 video clips, each containing one or more potential hazards.

The Theory Test is not straightforward and test candidates will need to study thoroughly in preparation for the test.
